1 year old biting

My 13 month old has started biting a lot. He does it when he's tired, frustrated or hungry and recently also when he's trying to show affection (I think he's trying to kiss my face but he bites instead). Until recently, we were able to say a stern no and distract, successfully, and he wouldn't do it again for a while.

But he does it so so often now, it's horrible. All the time. He just bit my shoulder for no reason. He has 10 teeth and 2 molars already so it hurts like hell. Any tips please?

Luckily he doesn't bite during nursing, he tried that and I ended the feed and gave a stern no and he got it very quick. The same approach is not working for all the other times.

When he bites you, say a stern no, stand up if you are sitting, put him on the floor and leave the room.

That is what I did too. Leaning the room really seemed to make them realise that biting meant no Mummy, even if it was for a minute or two.
