Nighttime leaking

Am at my wits end with having to get up in the night to my 4 year old who is still in pull ups. We are using huggies drynites and they leak most nights in the early hours waking him.up. I have tried both sizes, taking him for a wee before bed, wearing two of them. They just don't seem to work.

My partner suggested ninjamas but I don't see how they'd be different they feel about the same thickness.

Is it best to go back to a daytime pull-up for night time at this point - do they hold more?

Be grateful for any ideas!

My 4yo just uses regular supermarket pull ups (Tesco or Sainsburys size 7/8). I’ve never had an issue with a leak so maybe worth trying these instead of the others.

i have to use the drynites/ninjamas for my older son who is also not dry at night as the others as too small and they leak every night too so I feel your pain!

Thanks for replying. When you say the regular pull-ups, are they ones for daytime or nighttime?

Just the regular daytime ones in the red packs, I think they call them nappy pants.

We had this and reduced her drinks before bed, that did the trick. Was previously having a huge drink of milk with her bedtime story, so cut this by half.

That’s good advice. If you can try and encourage as many drinks as you can in the morning till about mid-afternoon, then start cutting down the quality.

We’ve been using Peachies for DC2 and I’ve noticed a lot less leaking than we had with DC1. They’re expensive though. Does your DC drink a lot before bed? Could you limit this to help?

I find ninjamas much better than huggies drynites, switched for this same reason and no more leaks.

My 7 year old is still in pull ups at night (he has ASD) and I use Aldi night time pull ups. Never have any issues and they are much cheaper than other brands.

Thanks everyone. I'll try another brand. He does have bedtime milk but tbh it happens on days when he didn't ask for any, so I don't know if it's that.
