My 6 week old formula fed baby has had very smelly (often explosive) runny poos and lots of very smelly gas for a week now. The HV suggested colic as baby was fussing when drinking milk but I disagree - he is actually a very settled baby other than when he has some trapped gas which we can relieve easily via either winding or bicycle legs/tummy massage. My main concern is the runny poo. I’ve been to the GP and am awaiting results of a stool sample but the GP says they are tempted to say a milk allergy. Baby hasn’t got any rashes or anything else to suggest allergy.
If you had a baby with a milk allergy, what were the symptoms?
We haven’t changed baby’s formula since he was 2 weeks old so it’s not like it’s a change in that which has caused it.
