Child hitting and pushing at nursery

Hi, my daughter has been at nursery for a month now, she is 3 1/2. We have just recently been told she is hitting and pushing at nursery. She doesnt do any of this outside of nursery. Ive tried telling her every day that hitting makes people sad etc and that its not nice, i also made a reward chart but nothing seems to be working. Is this something that could just be a phase? Is there anything else i can try?

There's really not much you can do from home. Nursery should be helping with giving her a safe place to retreat to if she feels overwhelmed where other children won't follow her, or getting her to come and find a teacher and tell them. If she can't articulate that they should give her a card to carry (or similar) that she can show them when she's feeling overwhelmed.
At home all you can do is make sure she doesn't go in hungry and gets plenty of sleep.

Thank you! I just find it so sad that this is happening. Because shes normally very sweet, im guessing nursery is new so shes just feeling overwhelmed
