7 month old keeps bashing his face on the cot

Looking for any tips to help my 7mo old sleep for longer at a time. I’m sleeping in his room currently and when he wakes after less than 3 hours, I don’t feed - he settles eventually to very rigorous bum patting and singing but it can take an hour 😬

The plan is to reduce down the patting to singing only then resettling himself. But the moment he wakes he’s standing in his cot - he’s a speedy crawler and very active, cruising around trying hard to walk. So he stands up but because he’s still little and wobbly in his sleeping bag, he soon tumbles and whacks his face somewhere on the bars.

It feels like I can’t make any progress in trying to get him to sleep more independently because he’s so quickly up on his feet and then getting hurt.

Any ideas or tips?!

Can you keep lying him down as soon as he stands up. Hopefully he will eventually get the message that it’s bedtime. Are you sure he isn’t hungry? It’s so hard when they’re that young isn’t it.

Have you got bumper pads on the sides

Well I'd give him a bottle he's reached a growth/energy spurt age. I'd find alternative bedding until he settles into a better routine.

He's very young not to have a feed overnight, I'd just give a bottle and everyone can go back to sleep.

Put some some cot bumpers on now he's over 6 months.

The point of sleep training is for everyone to get more sleep. Whatever method you are using, is not working.

Give her a bottle and maybe change sleep sacks. There are sleep sacks with feet as well FYI.

7 months is too little to go without a feed overnight. When they start crawling they are suddenly extremely active so she may genuinely be more hungry.

Hell, even I wake up and need a glass of water sometimes before I can go back to sleep.
