Toddler lunch on the go

I’ve got a 2 year old and a 1 year old, between naps and feeding times I feel like I’m always at home and when we go out it’s somewhere super local for an hour or two so we’re back before the next nap or feeding time. I’m so sick of it to be honest so this last fortnight I’ve started just going, the 1 year old is finally getting used to naps in the pushchair or on the go but I’m struggling for meals.

snacks are easy to sort but lunch not so much. I can’t afford to go to a cafe everyday and other than sandwiches, I can’t think of much to take with us for them both to eat. I took a lunchable today that they both hated 🤷‍♀️ 😂

any ideas for toddler lunch on the go please? Xx

I got a little mini thermos flask and put stew or make up leftovers like spag bol etc and put it in that which keeps it warm for a few hours which is nice in winter if we're out walking. Or we use a little insulated lunch box with mini ice packs and do all the usual packed lunch stuff - sandwiches/Hummus and veggie sticks/yoghurt pouch /fruit/breadsticks etc

I've also done cocktail sausages/ Spanish omelette/ veggie cheese fritters/pasta salads

We were constantly out at that age. Tiring, but easier than the chaos of keeping two toddlers inside!

I usually just went to Lidl and we’d eat in the park.
we live on a warm country so could do this throughout the year mostly.

yoghurts
tuna salad and cous cous pre made pots
cheese straws
punnet of berries or bag of oranges.
biscuits.

good memories!

My go tos are

Rice salad (with mixed veg and tinned fish)
Couscous, roasted veg, salad etc
Falafel & dip
Veggie muffins
Sandwiches

I also take fruit and a packet of crackers wherever we go just in case.

We generally do sandwiches for out and about and just vary the fillings / bread type and whatever they have with them. Also quite often do cheese, crackers and fruit, or occasionally pasta salad or egg muffins.

What mummy makes her first book has easy cheese straws and spinach and sweetcorn muffins…… we still take these out today if we’re out and about!!

Cold pesto pasta goes down a treat here too!!

pesto and grilled vegetables with pasta, rice balls with tuna in (you’ll need sticky sushi rice), sushi rolls with Japanese omelette in, couscous with chicken
