Hi all, FTM to a 3 month old DS, due to fly today for our first holiday (flight less than two hours). I am naturally a bit anxious and I usually deal with this by 'the only way out is through' as otherwise I find it gets worse etc. Anyway, I've had a nasty cold this week, slowly coming out the other end. DS is currently his cheery self, but has started sneezing. Is a 3 month old with a cold something easily manageable on holiday? What are they like poorly? Is there anything I should particularly make sure I have with me?! And finally, I am following my usual attitude of feeling the fear and doing it anyway, but is that irresponsible in this situation - should I move the flight!? I don't think I should, and writing it sounds ridiculous, but I find it hard to judge what is FTM anxiety talking, if that makes sense! Give my head a (gentle) wobble please!!

You’ll be fine and so will DS! A cold is no big deal. Go. Enjoy your holiday.

It’s 100 percent fine to take your baby on the flight. Pack calpol. Three month olds wity colds can sleep worse than usual but presumably you’ll both be able to help and no work the next day so not a big deal. Definitely get on the plane

are You BF? If so feed on takeoff and landing to help with any congestion and ear pain

Thank you both! Have packed Calpol and a thermometer 🫡 he's formula fed now (alas no brilliant antibodies) but will try and time a feed for take off...

Its either ride out the cold at home with the normal drudgery of life or while having a good time on holiday, I know which one I'd pick! Calpol vapour plug inside are great if LO ends up congested as well.

Yes any type of feeding is good at take off and landing, as swallowing helps with the ear pressure.

For the first few years there will be all kind of colds and viruses. Calpol is your friend. Have a lovely holiday.
