30 hours free for Baby

Hello, moved it here for more traffic.

I am due back to work in November. My baby will start half days in October as the nursery manager told me I would be eligible for 30 hours free from September is she turned 9 months in August.
However my application is pending as I am on maternity and it says I won't be eligible for funded hours until January. She didn't mention my start date back to work would affect anything.
Has she given me incorrect information as I am gutted as I started her settling in earlier as I thought we would get funded hours. My husband won't be happy as we might now have to pay full until January?

If you look at the FAQ on the govt childcare support website called "Can I apply for a code whilst I am on maternity, paternity or adoption leave?", it says that "You can also apply for the child that is the subject of the parental leave, though when you return to work will affect when you can take up the childcare." Then you can check the table with the dates, but if you are going back to work in Nov, then it looks like it is correct that your funding starts in January.

Can you use any carried over AL to stretch your mat leave to the end of the year and start nursery in Jan?

What do you mean your husband won't be happy? No one likes paying through the nose for childcare but if he could easily have looked up the rules himself if he was going to judge. It's not just your responsibility. Nor is caring for them when they're sick. Make sure it's not just you who takes everything on.
