My 1yo son (almost 14 months) has gotten into the habit of biting and slapping, for him, it’s in a playful manner or when he’s a bit hyper/overstimulated, none of it has seemed as an act of aggression or anger.
We obviously try and tell him “no” (still a word he is learning unfortunately) so don’t always get the outcome we need.
We’ve tried methods people have recommended, such as “crying out” when he does it, but that is usually met with a laugh as he thinks it’s part of the game he’s invented!
I’m really hoping this is a phase and part of ‘normal’ development (if there is such a thing!) but if anyone has any tips or advice, I’d really appreciate it.
(Just to add, we warned our nursery about it but he doesn’t seem to do it there - which we are thankful for - so mainly seems to be aimed at mum & dad at the moment).
