What do you do about--party invite?

We have been invited to 50th wed anniversary. 7pm tonight. They have said really would like to see dd (23mths) but coincides with bedtime. Would you take yours or stick to bedtime routine.?

if it's good friends or relatives rather than a load of people you barely know, I would take her. It's not that early and she'll have a great time.
Maybe try to get her to nap?

Take her. Good chance to show her off

Just have a pushchair or something available if she wants to sleep later.

Imagine she will nap on the way-so will get a chance for 40winks.

do they mean it or are they being polite?

even if they mean it they mean for 5 mins so they can ooo if she's cute ... but woe betide you if she starts to complain about being awake past bedtime or makes any noise / action rather than cute noises and blowing kisses .. trust me .. I know wherefore I speak

I would rather not go, but I have not got a bedtime excuse!!

go and take her but not stay for the whole thing. Use her as an excuse not to stay.

We were - still are - very relaxed over routines and bedtimes, so would have taken DD t show her off

I took her and we stayed from 7 till 9pm. She took to the dancefloor and never came off. Everyone loved her and I took advantage of the free bar!!!
