Polarn O pyret sizing

I am going to purchase a second hand pop jacket for my almost 3 year old for the winter.

Should I buy 2-3 or 3-4? They seem to be growing upwards particularly fast but waist seems to be getting smaller as age 3 trousers are slipping down, even though a couple of months ago they were fitting fine. Age 2-3 tops are turning into cropped tops so I can’t seem to get sizing right!

Also I don’t know if I can add this but AIBU for thinking £30-£50 is very expensive for a second hand toddler jacket!

I think POP comes up very big, I have two tall but slim Jim's.

A 12-18 month zip up fleece is still big on my two year old girl.

@JulioDonaldson oh wow very big sizing! I will
Get 2-3 then allowing some room to grow. Thanks!

I think it’s fairly TTS. Unless you’re comparing to french brands or anything else notoriously tiny. The age 5 t shirts DS has from there are significantly smaller than age 4-6 H&M anyway. But also I’d always size up a coat to be sure of getting the full season out of it despite any growth spurts and to allow for thick jumpers underneath. So I would definitely get the 3-4.

But also they sell PoP coats in John Lewis if you have one nearby and wanted a try on first.

It’s big. Scandinavian children are taller than UK children.

Yes it's a Scandi brand made for talllll children. This was years ago by my DD was wearing an 18-24mo jacket when she was 3.5yo. If you're not familiar with the brand I really think you should see it in the flesh before committing.

They are sized big but I would still go for 3-4 to get maximum use out of it.

Where are you buying it from? Prices secondhand on their outlet are going to be more expensive than on Vinted although the worth of secondhand clothes on there always comes down to what someone will pay. I usually buy secondhand coats for about £10 + postage for the same age but haven’t had one from Polarn O Pyret yet.

Polarn o pyret is really good quality, the best I've tried for my kids. I ve found the sizing true to size too. but my kids are tall.

Calliopespa · 20/08/2025 20:40

I think it sizes up huge IME.

I honestly seem to remember one of my not particularly small dc starting school in a 18m POP raincoat.

ETA lean-ish dc, only just above average height at that age.
