Hi,
My Lo corrected age is 11 months old and her adjusted age is 13 months. She was born 7 weeks early. My reason for this post is because I am worried that she is not responding to her name. She does turn to noise and when I tell her no. She does simle when she sees and hears her granny coming into the house. When she hears her daddy's voice when he comes home from work she turns and simles. Just worried as she dosent respond at all to her name. I would be grateful for advice please as it is causing me alot of anxiety. Thanking you.🙂

Ask for a referal to audiology for a hearing test. At any one time 25% of children have glue ear. For most it’s temperory but some need a tiny operation, literally 3 mins for both ears.

Thanks for your message. We didn't think she would need a hearing test when she turns to loud noises and when I say no.

Get it checked out, but bare in mind, it could just be that she doesn't want to!

My DS1 understood and heard everything going on around him, but if he wasn't interested, then he just ignored it.

I laughed at his 18month progress checkup when they noted down that he didn't have good pincer grip, when I knew he did, but they'd offered him raisins which he didn't like, so of course he wouldn't try to pick them up.

Some children are just very stubborn I think. On the bright side, I never really had to babyproof because if he decided he didn't care about something, it was left completely alone (on the reverse, if he decided he wanted something, normal baby-proofing wasn't enough!)

Your right yes... she could be stubborn just like her mother.🤣
