IPod equivalent for non-phone owning 10 year old!

My soon to be 10 year old wants to listen to via Spotify/amazon on something portable. I guess she could use a tablet but ideally something much smaller, like the ipod or ipod mini I had in the 00s!! Any ideas?? She doesn't have a smart phone (and won't for a good while presuming we stick to our guns) and is happy using a yoto mini for audiobooks at this stage but looking for something a bit more grown up for music.

What you're looking for is a Mighty 3. My DD has her own playlists on my Spotify which I sync to her Mighty

You can buy an old iPod touch. Or use a phone without a SIM card.

I second Mighty, my kids have these and I create a Spotify playlist of whatever songs they want and it syncs

We have a family Spotify account, and my 11 year old downloaded the app to her tablet (no phone number associated with tablet) and works fine. She connects to a cheap/ portable Bluetooth speaker in her room.

Over the last few years there has been a few of these threads.
The answer is a second hand phone, without a sim. Which is essentially what an iPod touch was. And has all the functionality of a tablet but smaller.

Use Google family link to control it or the Apple equivalent if your an Apple family.
