Pastel bots - aplix or nippas?

I want to use cloth nappies on firstborn (due in June).

The nappy lady has recommended pastel bots / tots bots, so I'm planning to get some pastels size 1s to start with (and probably some plain tots ones for night), and see how it goes.

However, I'm not sure whether to get aplix or nippa fastening. It strikes me that aplix will be easier to start with (and therefore we might be more likely to keep using them), but I've read a few posts about the nippa fastening being great as much more adjustable?

Any thoughts?

I used pastel tots with nippas as then you don't need to worry about the aplix getting grotty or coming off (nappies do take a battering in the wash) - nippas are easy to use and very adjustable.

I went straight for size 2 tots and folded the top over when dd was smaller - saved me buying size 1 for 2 months only - they have a video of how to fold a size 2 to fit a newborn on the totsbots website.

I'm a real nappy newbie, but have used both (albeit on an older baby) - the nappi nippa ones are v easy to use and my dh loved them (something about gadgets maybe?) But I'd suggest getting a couple of aplix for night time, just imagine trying to fiddle with nappi nippas in semi-darkness!

BTW do look at Bimbles/Bumbles which are similar to TBs only have a lovely fleecy inner and can be stuffed with boosters.

Bumbles
Good nappy site

The nappy mania lady is doing a buy it and see offer on Bumbles at the mo.

I got aplix as my trial nappy but decide to go for nippas as my main nappy system, mainly because I wanted the nappies to last longer. Much prefer the nippa to be honest, better fir, even with a wriggly baby. I usually hand her a spare nippa to keep her still! . The nippa will take about 2 go's to get the hang off and then you'll never look back.

I am using terries with nappy nippas and some tots with aplix, I am looking to buy more tots the next size up and have to say that I am trying to get them with aplix, I like the aplix nappies they just seem nicer.
