Mental and physical exhaustion

Single parent to 2 teens who won’t go to bed until 12-1 am, I’m up at 5-6 and am exhausted. If I leave them and go bed before them they wake me up either fighting, arguing, arsing round going on the toilet, getting drinks etc etc. I can’t cope anymore, I just dislike them and sometimes wish I’d never had them, my life’s just an existence

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It is very hard but things do get better eventually. There are numerous people who feel the same way as you do.

I hear you. Being tired is no fun. Is there a reason why you're up so early? Can you introduce some house rules?

Iocainepowder · 15/08/2025 08:46

What are they fighting over?

Are there consequences for them misbehaving? Eg removing wifi access/pocket money?

What have they said when you’ve spoken about your lack of sleep with them?

Do they always go to bed at this time or is it because it's the summer holidays? Could you nap on the living room sofa in the evening?

Good earplugs - mine is a very loudly snoring husband. Was a game changer for me. Good luck x
