DD is nearly 5mths and very dribbly, more fretful than usual and chewing anything she can get her hands on, including her hands, so I assume her teeth are beginning to make their presence felt. I don't think it's time to get the Calpol out, but can anyone suggest anything that might make her more comfortable?

teething powders

Anbesol Liquid! It is a God send. I even use it if I have a mouth ulcer.

It contains a local anaesthetic so numbs the area immediately. Make sure that you get the liquid, rather than the gel, as it is easier to apply and can't be licked off.

Teetha which is in sachets in a littel green box. it is herbal and my ds loves it. easy to use.

Ashtons and Parsons powders, and Dentinox teething gel worked for us.

Nelson's Teetha chamomilia granules (or Boots do their own version which is a bit cheaper). Calms DDs red cheeks down within 10 minutes of giving it to her, but she seems to get immediate relief as they are grainy and I think that helps soother her gums.

Dentinox was good for us. You can apply it every 20 minutes I think.

My HV gave me a great tip of putting some gel on before you feed them, it helps the little gums whilst a bottle or spoon is in their mouths
