Frustrated 7 month old - help!

We’ve reached that phase of ‘want to move but can’t’ with our 7.5 month DS and I’d forgotten how tough it is!

I don’t remember it being this bad with DD though. She was less determined and not as strong as DS. When we’re out and about he doesn’t want to be stuck in the pushchair, which is fair, so I get him out, but he’s is constantly wrestling for autonomy and independence. Sometimes literally wrestling out of my arms in places I can’t safely let him explore, which is tricky when juggling a very squirrelly toddler too.

Any tips for how to get through it? I’m physically knackered (because his sleep is a bit crap too) and so slinging him for too long just kills me. 🫠

Sending hugs. My DS started crawling at 6.5 months and from that moment on my life was changed completely 😅 no more walks in the pram, no more nice coffees and lunches, boy just wanted to be out doing stuff. So much moaning and wrestling. He's 1 now and walking and it's finally gotten a lot better. I still can't sit down for a lunch but he's so happy and can do more stuff.

Is he crawling? If so, I'd start taking him to soft play. I kept outings short at that age too as he lost patience and needed to be home to crawl.

Aww thanks! I needed hugs after being beaten up all day 😂

He’s up on his knees and moving backwards so crawling just around the corner. He does soft play with his sister, on the grass at the park, on the asphalt in the playground 😬😂 I’ll put him down anywhere I can get away with it lately! But I might take him to soft play alone on a quieter day. It’s a pain that it’s all kicking off for him during the summer hols as there are a million baby groups around us during term time!
