Honest opinion that I think a lot of people are scared to say because of the backlash but imma say it anyways.. I feel soooo sorry for kids today, the amount of children getting wrongfully diagnosed or not even diagnosed, just the parents forcing it, with autism. I know mums who have children who are very obviously autistic or have adhd but I see people posting ‘oh my son threw a full toilet roll down the toilet, he must have autism’ no hes 3 years of age & I’ll say ALL 3 year olds have probably thrown the toilet roll down the toilet, its new & fun and they are inquisitive, there imaginations run wild, they are CHILDREN. I see parents posting that there 15 month old baby flapped there hands 1 time so now they’re labeled as ‘autistic’, not my a medical professional, just the parents 🤦🏻‍♀️. Then those kids are getting sent into school & getting put into special SEN classes, which I think are brilliant classes but for those who actually need it. Getting treated like babies all there lives & then expect them to mount to something amazing when they turn 18 but in most cases alot of these children will end up on the dole & lazy because they’ve never been pushed to actually do anything because they’ve always had the excuse ‘oh it’s ok he’s autistic’ ‘oh he can’t do much because he has adhd’.. it’s so so sad, let children be children without labelling them. Children aren’t supposed to be sat at a desk 7 hours a day at the age of 6 so no I’m not surprised he’s being a handful in school, it’s not adhd. It’s normal ffs 💀

Oh & for those who have iPad children then worry about them being autistic. Get them off the iPad & actually stimulate there brains. You as a parent are lazy and abusing your children. iPads don’t cause autism but EXCESSIVE use of screen time can cause ‘autistic like’ symptoms & cause all sorts of behavioural & emotional issues. Alls you are doing is damaging and slowing down your children. anyways, rant over.

And no I do not care what your opinions are. That is mine and it won’t ever change.
also, don’t come asking ‘why does it bother you so much’.. it bothers me because the poor kids having to go through it, it’s so unfair to them.

Have a nice day 🥰

Ok then.

You clearly have a very limited understanding of how these things work.

This. It’s well known how difficult any diagnosis is. Our DD has a rare genetic condition and doesn’t qualify for an EHCP so you’ve really outed yourself on how little you know about the process.

This is very funny.

My SD clearly had ADHD, it cost over £1000 to get her diagnosed privately. the therapist we saw said, "This is not a borderline case and I'm shocked it has not been picked up by the school."

DD's school are much more competent, have picked up on the symptoms told us that she can be referred at the age of 6, but we can expect a 3 year wait for NHS assessment.

I was diagnosed at 24 and being undiagnosed ruined the majority of my education.

The idea that anyone with ND conditions can just "get a diagnosis", or that parents and teachers as a whole are aware enough to spot signs so early is beyond ridiculous. I wish hand flapping at 15 months was being picked up on and investigated. More like 10 yos who do nothing but hand flap are being knocked back because the waiting list is full.

If you don’t care what people’s opinions are, I think you’ve misunderstood the point of a post on the internet.

Just go and shout at the clouds like people do. Don’t post here.

I think looking at OPs username tells us everything we need to know.
