I’ll preface this post by saying that I love my kids to death, and this post is in jest (sort of). But my god, I wish they would be quiet!
DS1 is 5, autistic and a constant noise machine. His current hobbies include pinching and biting me, wiping nose and mouth mucus over me and any nearby soft furnishings, and general house destruction. I just had to run into the kitchen to get away from being nudged constantly after he sat in the armchair with me.
DS2 is 6 months old and is also a noise machine. He’s generally happy, but is having a day where he is intent on being a misery guts unless he is sleeping. He doesn’t want to be in his jumperoo, he doesn’t want to play on the floor. He also doesn’t want to be held, and he outright refused to drink his last bottle. He just wants to complain.
DH just took DS2 out for a walk to try to give me a bit of quiet, which I’m grateful for not only because it gets him out of the house, but also because it means the sound of DH’s stupid computer is gone for a while.
I can’t bear the noise sometimes, and it feels like it’s coming from all directions. I love my family, but I’m actually looking forward to going back to work in a few weeks!
