Cot struggles

I really need advice. My 15 month old and his cot are driving me mad 😂 for the past week or so he keeps getting his arms and legs stuck in the gap and literally nearly breaking them. He screams and we have to manoeuvre him to get him out. I’ve had enough of it. And one of these times he’s really gunna hurt himself. What can I do? X

Neither of mine ever slept in a cot for this reason, I don't know how they haven't designed something better after all this time. You can get breathable cot bumpers which are safe but these never worked for me either. I got more sleep with them in my bed!

I’m currently pregnant so him being in our bed just doesn’t work lol he keeps me awake and kicks me and I sleep terribly lol
