Another rash one…

Anyone want to hazard a guess at what we have starting here? 🫠 heat rash? HFM? Pox?

Only 2 spots currently (and a few smaller red ones but not unusual as sensitive skin!) - one of which is a little itchy. And both are on the face.

The start of impetigo?

The start of impetigo?

@PInkyStarfish Oh, I have no idea about that 🫠 off to google!

@Whaleadthesnail a few small ones. I was thinking it looked like that too unfortunately 🫠

Also think it looks like chicken pox. Sorry.

@TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams Thanks 🫠 only seem to be on face so far. Have just had a quick peek in at DC and they don’t seem any different and body still clear! I guess we’ll see as the day goes on!

It’s the blistering really. I’ve heard of cases where kids get hardly any spots at all and a really mild dose. Wasn’t my experience as a child we were all covered!

JustAMum35 · 03/08/2025 07:51

Thanks all @PInkyStarfish @TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams @Whaleadthesnail

10 spots in total, only on face so far, no other symptoms, one occasionally slightly itchy, slightly open today (similar to the Day3 pics that I see online but nowhere near as angry looking 🤔). They didn’t really blister as such, more just raised.
I know more can appear for a good few days so I guess it’s just a case of acting like that’s what it is (isolating etc) and waiting to see what develops? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Got any pets? Flea bites is another possibility (that was an embarrassing conversation with school 🤦🏼‍♀️)

@TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams Nope, no pets and not been near any animals 🤷🏻‍♀️
I’m stumped! We have such a busy week and I have no idea whether just to cancel and go on as if it’s pox 🫠

Oddly, they’ve faded even more this morning - a few have pretty much disappeared so I’m now pretty sure it’s not been chickenpox at all 🤔

I would crack on with your week. But perhaps stay away from pregnant or immuno compromised folk. Handily most things are outdoors this time of year. I wouldn’t keep them off camps or park activities on the basis of latest pics. I’d just stop grandparents from giving them a kiss just in case.

@TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams Thanks. That’s my plan. It seems odd for it not to be them given that it looked so like it and is doing the rounds 🙈
