Please could anyone help me with some dry/beige foods for my autistic 2 year old, he only seems to eat potato shapes, waffles, chicken nuggets, weetobix, baby snacks like rice cakes and wafers, mostly struggling with dinners
Thank you kindly x

It has to be a food that is exactly the same every time he eats it. They often don’t like foods because they are unpredictable, apples for instance, sometimes sweet, sometimes sour, sometimes crunchy.
For a new food give him the tiniest amount, grain of rice size, to taste, with the whole food to look at, but not on his plate.
Try different shapes of food, e.g. try carrots as batons or circles, cooked and uncooked. If he likes it one way then don’t try to change it.
Give him a good multivitamin.

Also, look at dinners in terms of nutrition rather than which foods are usually served together. Protein + carb + fat + fruit or veg. My DS used to eat a boiled egg with spaghetti, apple and peas for example (the rest of us had bolognaise).
