You could do a half birthday theme

We’ve done this for a Christmas baby too. Everyone likes a party so will be happy to come along, but we made very clear that no presents were needed.

It worked well!

Presumably next June when she's 2.5? I think it's probably not worth calling it a birthday party at that age but by all means have a summer play date where you invite nursery pals etc. over. A party for her third birthday in Dec or Jan will be fun and 3 and 4 year olds appreciate and understand partiesbetter

Yes this is what we want to do did you just do it as a 2nd birthday or did you call it 1 and a 1/2 x

I think we said it was her 2 1/2 birthday (so after the event, not before. That feels a bit less pushy somehow).

If she’s not yet 2 I’d call it a 1 1/2 birthday. But I wouldn’t do it if you’ve already had a first birthday party. Two parties in 6 months might be a bit much!!

My DN (late December birthday also) used to have a half birthday party in June when she was little. Presents not expected. Everyone thought it was a lovely idea as far as I know.
