Why don't doctors take menopause more seriously

I'm just moaning really but why don't doctors pay more attention to menopause? Why no matter how much we tell them how it's affecting our life don't they do more?
I'm just getting it's your age, it's the change.
Tablets to stop a 7 week period which worked but as soon as I finished the course I ended up in a and e with flooding and pain so bad I needed codiene. Had blood tests but doctor has arranged a phone appointment in August to talk about the results, why do I have to wait till August? Been referred for an ultrasound but again non urgent. I'm passing massive clots, flooding in the night. And e said they can't do a scan or anything because it was Manchester and I live in Oldham.
Why are we expected to just put up with it?
I can't do my job if I'm changing a towel every 10 mins and in pain that badly

Because of the patriarchy.

And I found female GPs the worst. Thought that because they were female they knew what it was like. Male GPs have to listen properly.

Definitely, "it's just your age, " your change of life " ok but how do I live my life when I'm flooding, having to double up on protection and bleeding through protection and on to the sheets at night? Gave my Norseterone to stop the bleeding and it isn't working.

'Because of the patriarchy'

Yep, this. Women bleed and cramp and have horrendous symptoms related to our reproductive systems, it's just the way it is so get over it, girls. It's absolutely not good enough and there is no way in hell that men would be expected to put up with such debilitating symptoms for years on end
