Mattress for 5 year old

I need to replace my 5 year olds mattress.

He has a silent night healthy growth one at the moment, with waterproof side. I researched at the time and it seems like a solid, supportive buy for a growing child but it’s not the comfiest (in my opinion, he seems happy enough) and you can feel the springs.

What has everyone else gone for? He does get particularly hot at night so something known for cooling would be great.

I've just found Little Green Sheep do full size mattresses. They're not cheap, but all natural fibres so warm or cool as needed. We had their moses basket which was well made so I think I'll try one of their mattresses when we need one

We've just got a memory foam topper for half price. We just layer it up with a waterproof sheet. Although to be honest in the two weeks we've had it he hasn't had an accident.

We use a 4 tog duvet most of the wear round. However at the moment he is just using his camp blanket and seems happy enough.

We have actually had those for cots, not sure if they’d be the same for kids size though.

For the amount of wee they get battered with (yes, even with waterproof mattress protectors), a foam one from IKEA is my go to at that age.
