I often find myself unsure what consequences actually work with my child. I try not to be too harsh, but if I'm too soft, nothing changes either! I’m really curious what have you tried that made a real impact without causing meltdowns or power struggles?

Unfashionable but I think naughty step or some form of time out is pretty effective. It can be applied in almost all contexts, and is bad enough to be a clear negative without being harmful.

bur being consistent is the most important thing. Make sure kids know the rules and stick to them.
