Lumps in anti reflux milk

As per title!
moved my 4.5wk old on to Sma anti reflux milk due to suspected silent reflux. The instructions are different to other formulas due to the powder going clumpy if you use hot water so what I’ve been doing to make is -

boil kettle, measure out the correct amount of oz and then cool the water down in the nuby flask. Pour back in to bottle, add scoops and then shake vigorously … but it still so lumpy!!

thankfully baby is still getting the milk out ok (size 2 or 3 mam test) but I worry that he won’t be getting enough nutrition if all the lumps aren’t dissolved and it’ll be too watered down?

Try an x shaped teat- that’s better for thicker milks.

maybe the water is still a bit too hot. How about boiling water and putting it in the bottle earlier on to cool a little longer.

he actually doesn’t seem to have any issue getting the milk out with the current tests despite the lumps, they aren’t clogging, it’s just that the lumps are all left at the bottom of the bottle.

but yeah perhaps the water is still too warm, the nuby cools feeds down to lukewarm drinking temp so thought it would have been ideal for reflux milk preparation

Add the water to the powder. I used to break up any obvious lumps before mixing.

Swirl don’t shake to try and reduce the air going in.

What do you mean add water to powder?

Pour water onto the powder instead of adding powder to water already in a container.
