How long do bite marks last?

My 4yo was bitten by a 2yo yesterday. This isn't a thread about behaviour, I'm not cross as understand it's not uncommon but I'm just wondering how long the mark generally lasts? The skin wasn't broken, but it was a "hard" bite which lasted about 3 seconds. It was on the outer part of the forearm so not much muscle and thinner skin I guess - not like it was on the thigh or anything. There is just a red bite mark as if someone has just drawn it on with a faint red pen - no indents or anything - I'm just thinking if it's still there and the dents have gone but the mark hasn't, has this damaged the skin and could it last forever???

My daughter bit me earlier this year on my wrist.
Didn't break the skin but left a nasty bruise that was there for a 7-10 days and the red mark was there for about 4 weeks!

@Superscientistthanks for replying! Oh my gosh! At least it's gone down. No bruise has appeared yet and I'm not sure it will. Just worried he'll have a constant reminder about biting - he keeps telling everyone what happened!

My DD fell asleep with a hair bobble around her wrist once (I had no idea obviously, still feel bad about it!) and the red mark from that lasted about two weeks!

Not the same I know but I suppose it's a red mark from pressure on the skin. I'm sure it won't last forever don't worry. Hope he's ok!

My 4yo daughter has a bite mark from her 2yo brother on her arm from 8 days ago. No signs of fading yet!

My son has been bitten a couple of times at nursery, but through clothes, and those bruises have lasted about 10 days
