Silent reflux - gaviscon or sma anti reflux?

Second baby, 4 weeks old currently and I think suffering silent reflux (first baby was “standard reflux” - he used to spit up large volumes of feeds constantly) however my new baby does not - small dribbles or occasional larger spit ups probably totally normal for age however defo exhibits silent reflux signs

  • back arching and tense after feeds
  • hard to settle after feeding very fussy
  • no weight gain issues actually the opposite as I think baby eats to soothe
  • gags as if has a hairball stuck but no vomit comes out
  • frequent hiccups

going to chat with the gp and know they’ll suggest gaviscon which we used with the first baby but it didn’t really work due to the amoint of spit up he used to bring up

would gaviscon work better with silent reflux and small amounts of regurgitation or could sma Anti reflux milk work (or is this better for bigger spit ups?) the reason I suggest sma over other brands as it doesn’t need to stand to thicken so seems more convenient

My niece has severe silent reflux.
My DSis videoed the screaming and writhing and the GP gave a prescription that really helped. She wasn't asked to try anything else first.
