Dummies

My little boy is 18 months old and still uses a dummy at night ( please no judgement we are trying to tackle his sleep before we take the dummy away). He uses the MAM dummies but we keep loosing them so looking for a cheaper alternative.

We have a few Tesco ones but there is no Tesco local to us so it’s an hour trip to go and get them.

are there any other similar dummies your little one has used? I’ve seen the vital baby ones on Amazon 6 for £10 but can’t see any review on anyone saying if there were similar.

Any help would be great. Can’t keep spending £7 a pack for us or nursery to keep loosing them.

If he only uses them at night how are they getting lost so often? Sorry if that's a silly question, just surely they wouldn't be going out of the house often in that case? My eldest 2 had a dummy overnight much later than 18 months but I don't recall any issues losing them frequently. They both had sleepytot teddies with 4 attached to those in their bed and we'd just wash and replace with clean ones as needed. DC1 used Philips Avent ones and DC2 Tommee Tippee and they both had the glow in the dark versions for bed.

Sorry feel like I explained it badly. He takes 2 to nursery for nap times and we are out the house sometimes for naps so he has them at nap time not just bed time ( sleep deprivation didn’t explain that well 🙈). To be fair I try to take them off him as soon as he wakes up but his dad isn’t so strict so he gets away with it more when out and about.

They are probably round the house under sofas etc but we only had 4 and he has at least 2 in his cot for overnight.

My kids loved the MAM dummies too. Sorry to say we never found an alternative that they would accept.

Have you tried one of those little string things to attach them onto something so they don’t get lost?

Yes unfortunately somehow he has managed to learn to unclip this and launch it 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ which is even more of a nightmare on long car journeys
