Out for an hour in UV 5

Had no choice but to walk to nursery with my eldest (7) to pick up my youngest. We're in Scotland so not as high temp as England but it's about 25 degrees and the UV rating is 5.

I put suncream on eldest and topped up youngest but now freaking out. Eldest was out in the sun for about an hour amd youngest half an hour. No sunburn but just red faces that have went down since we got in and cooling down.

Should I be doing anything else? They've had a large glass of water each and onto another one, stripped down and the fan on. They're not complaining of being too hot now it's just me getting paranoid.

I've high anxiety and this has triggered me so please be kind but honest.

They’ll be absolutely fine with plenty of sunscreen and hydration. Been in and out of the sun constantly with my toddler. Gotta make the most of this glorious weather whilst it lasts.

We are vitamin D deficient in this country due to lack of sunlight and too much time indoors. Get some cream on and enjoy the sun on your skin.

Don’t worry. They’ll be fine.

This is definitely your anxiety talking. They will be absolutely fine.

Did they have hats on? I'm sure they will be fine. The vitD will do them good.

You've put suncream on. Only other thing I'd have done is pop a hat on. However the UV rating is much higher here in the Midlands and we've been doing school runs and carrying on with life albeit a bit slower as it's 33/34 here today. I'm very fair and been burned quite badly in the past. I've survived this spring / summer so far without getting caught.

Thank you!! Yes youngest had hat on and eldest had one on for half an hour as she felt it was making her hotter wearing it 😳 wish I'd just forced her to keep it on. Can't see any sunburn on her scalp. I don't know why I'm worrying so much probably because we usually have the car!
