Hi everyone, just after some advice.
My son is 8.5 years old. I've had a couple challenging weeks with him, behaviour wise. He's been really up and down and stressing over little things. I put it down to hormones, he seems much happier and settled this week.
Today he came up and told me he had hair on his testicles and asked me to look. He does seem to have some very thin, soft, blonde hair in the area! Some of them being a bit longer but the rest just like leg hair length.

I'm so sorry if this is tmi, I feel abit uncomfortable writting this in all honestly but being a single mum I feel like I don't have anyone I feel comfortable talking about it in real life.

From anyone's experience, could this be that start of puberty? I've never looked in the area since changing nappies so I don't know if this hair is new? He just seems so young.... he's only 8.5 😔

It does seem early, maybe worth booking an appointment with your GP?

My daughter had early puberty but was diagnosed at 6.5. There's a good Facebook group 'precocious puberty UK' which is worth joining and asking for advice. I'm not sure what the normal range for boys is but anything over 8 is normal range for girls.
