Mucusy Poo - TMI PIC

My almost 5w old is pooing constantly. Probably up on 12 times a day and I’ve noticed an increase in mucus in his poo. DC1 had CMPA but roared the house down constantly, vomited all the time but DC2 is much more settled. If it wasn’t for mucus in his poo I probably wouldn’t have any concerns. He is feeding 2 hourly and HV thinks he might be in pain and thinks the milk helps?

anyone’s baby had mucus and not had CMPA? He was 5 weeks early so I’m wondering is it his digestive system adjusting?

Given the family history I think it's worth trying prescription formula. You can always do the milk challenge in a few weeks to see if it is the milk or time that has improved things, assuming they improve
Not all babies display the same symptoms. My friend has had two cmpa babies the first screamed for 8 weeks before trailing formula. The other was super happy and chilled but had awful nappies once she switched to formula.

Dd had mucus poop on and off for a while at that age.
She was entirely bf, and I don't do a lot of dairy, just egg and a bit of cheese here and there. She absolutely has no issue with dairy growing up
Would get yours checked just for peace of mind though

HV recommended Nutramigen based on nappies, congestion and family history. Hopefully we see an improvement soon
