Reusable nappies-please help, silly Qs

Hi

So I'm a complete virgin when it comes to reusable nappies. But a friend has just given me a TotsBots nappy, wrap, and some Juniorjoy liners. But have just got a few silly questions.

The nappy is new, so does it need pre-washing, if so how many times, and can I wash it at 40C or do I have to wash itat 60C?

The liners look bigger than the nappy, so do I fold them over to fit, or cut them to size? One side of the liner is smooth the other is slightly rough, so which side goes next to baby's bottom.

Also last silly question, how often do you change the nappy? Not quite sure how it works, is it like disposables. Or do you just change the liner each time, and the nappy when its wet right through/dirty?

Any help would be appreciated, am hoping to change completely to reusable depending on how I get on.

Thanks xx

Was 2-3 times - no need to dry it in between times. I would prewash it in with other stuff (whatever other washing you have to do) so doesn't matter whether 40 or 60.

Don't fold the liner, cut in half if that fits better.

I change the reusables a little more frequently than disposables, and obviously straight away if pooey. Flush the liner away, but if the liner is just wet you can wash it and reuse it.

Try the nappylady website for loads of practical info.

You will need a lot more than just one nappy - best to seek further advice on what might fit your lifestyle
