Changing a toddler’s nappy on a plane

Hey
I’ve just been on a long haul flight without my darling children and I realised there is no way I could fit my toddler on the tiny changing table in the bathroom on a plane. We are going away with them in a few months- moms, how are we doing it??
TIA

If it was a poo nappy the smell would upset other passengers.

Of course not, it's a baby's poo, not adults, not smelly. Although it was just pee. Passengers didn't even notice.

Hahaha, don't talk what you don know. My whole family was taking the whole row so nobody's else saw anything. Not that it should be of your concern, mind your own business.

I’m ex cabin crew. This is truly disgusting practice. Thankfully not many parents are selfish enough to do it. Believe me, you are acclimatised to the smell of your child’s poop, nobody else is. Other people would have been revolted.

Ive even had parents do it during a meal service, or try to hand the rolled up dirty nappy to the crew. Quite a few changed nappies on seats before getting off and left the nappy with all their other trash on the seats for the cleaners. I flew for over 20 years, I really don’t miss some of the skanky passengers!

Not sure you could use them, but I'm just curious, are the toilets for first/business class areas on planes bigger? Sounds very stressful changing them in the little bathrooms, I have no idea how disabled people cope.

Baby poo can smell vile!

Make sure the toilet lid's down before you start, then your toddler can't throw your handbag down the toilet, like my friend's little darling did.

Presumably the child was a stranger to the concept of cleanliness 🤔

Not always no. Depends on the airline, aircraft and configuration. I’ve been advised by cabin crew to go back for more space on more than one occasion when I’ve had a lap baby.

Wow, for all that money I'd definitely want a bigger toilet lol

If you’re THAT mom I guess you think your kid’s shit smells of roses.

Some planes now have bigger first/business toilets, but most don’t.

Some planes have two toilets side by side that have a wall inbetween them that can be folded back so it becomes a big disabled loo. But generally speaking it’s tough being disabled on a plane. I’ve helped a few over the years and sometimes had to literally stand in front and the door to screen them.

Not really, it's a baby and my whole Family was taking the whole row. I wouldn't change him next to a stranger.

Your family might have occupied the whole of one row, but what about the poor people sitting in the row behind you? I would be livid if I’d paid hundreds of pounds for a plane ticket only to find some inconsiderate and entitled person thinking they had the right to change a shitty nappy in front of me and would complain to the cabin crew. If you really did change a soiled nappy like this, and you’re not just saying this to try to shock people and wind them up, then your standards are truly revolting.

That's interesting they can temporarily make 1 bigger. Good of you to do that but that's terrible they are put in that position.

Hopefully they'll get better, I don't fly much so I had never thought of changing a baby in one. Pregnant currently and this threads put me off lol

You presume wrongly.

Your family had to sit near it though which is pretty grim. And the people in the next row or two must have been able to smell it.

Your reasoning is faulty.
How would you like it if someone else did this near you?

Grim.

the child was clearly a 'sportsman' (or 'sportswoman') in that case 😧🧐🤯
