Is my Newborn sleeping too much?

DD is 8 days old and seems to be permanently asleep. She's feeding well and is otherwise very content but we're starting to get a bit worried about the amount of time her eyes are closed! In the day, she's probably awake a total of 2 hours...

Probably just being worrisome but don't remember DS being asleep so much.

Fine imo. Sounds normal for an 8 day old. Make the most of it!

enjoy it!

Honestly, Honestly thats perfect!

newborns should sleep lots.... many are not allowed or do not sleep enough. It's fairly boring, but thats whats best for them, sleep, feed change, sleep, cuddles obviously but sleepis really important.

An overtired infant can become an aggitated, upsett baby very quickly.

I did not let my PFB sleep enough, I learnt fast for my next two and even at 5mths old they still followed pretty much the same pattern. They were also both contented, happy, easy babies who would sleep in their beds with no help, my friends would joke that I never saw them as they were always in bed. It was sort of true!

As long as she is feeding then you have nothing to worry about

Congratulations BTW!

No such thing as newborns sleeping too much! Enjoy it while it lasts

(can you tell the sleep deprived posters here?!)
