What’s the best thing your child has ever received in a party bag?

I’m hoping for some inspiration rather than tat that will not even be enjoyed before going straight in the bin 😂

I put fluffy slime in DDs party bags once. Apparently it was a huge hit.

How can slime be fluffy 🤔

Girls party - I did Xmas bauble, lip balm, sweets, and a keyring, sticky face jewels.

Now I just do those sweet cones. At least they get eaten.

Once, mine got a felt superhero mask and a matching cape. It was worn regularly for years -in fact I am pretty sure it's still in the dressing up box at least 5 years on.

This sort of thing:

The only thing my kid is actually interested in is the piece of cake

also he likes glow sticks

@ToffeeForEveryone "Yellow Stretchy Man"
That's Mr Squishy 😍
We did keep his (decapitated) head for a while.... which is kinda weird really 😂

A moon ball always goes down a treat.

LyndaSnellsSniff · 27/06/2025 20:08

I once found a pile of vintage Spiderman comics in a charity shop. They were 50p each so I bought them all and used them in party bags.

silentlyleavetheirlife · 27/06/2025 20:09

I put in a share bar of Cadburys caramel & a bag of crisps

TheActualDuck · 27/06/2025 20:12

A wash bag with something like ‘you’re beautiful’ printed on it.

A sports themed party and the kids all got a set of bats with velcro and a sticky ball. Fantastic for the beach and still played with years later!

Her favourite, a sticker book or colouring book or a plaster painting kit

Mine was a reading book 😆

laesosalt · 27/06/2025 20:21

We did books this year and it went down a hit 🥰

Nextweektoo · 27/06/2025 20:28

Sweets and odd socks, little miss books

Nevertrustacop · 27/06/2025 20:30

Once an Easter egg, once a Christmas selection pack, both with bits of cake

Needlenardlenoo · 27/06/2025 20:32

I did a magic themed bag for a party with a magician. Little pack of cards, magic wand, gold chocolate coins.

Ah those were the days 😀.

dontcomeatme · 27/06/2025 20:33

Stickers or fake tattoos

My child always loved whistle or party blower and cake. V disappointed if there is no cake. Sweets always get eaten (or swapped with friends if not liked). Sticky men are also always a hit

Focusispower · 27/06/2025 20:37

Instead of a party bag a small zip cat purse/bag that can be worn cross body. Enjoyed, worn loads and still has it 18 months later. Looks like they are a couple of quid on SHEIN. I don’t shop there personally but it was a good idea for a party bag. Same friend did novelty sunglasses this year and again they have been enjoyed and used.

The WORST thing is slime.

665theneighborofthebeast · 27/06/2025 20:38

Sock puppets. Of the kids!
Brilliant and hilarious, never seen it topped.

GCDPAF · 27/06/2025 20:41

Best thing by far was one of those solid slimline Smiggle pencil cases. My child still has it 6 years later.

Secretsquirels · 27/06/2025 20:42

We got a reusable nice cup with lid that had sweets in instead of a party bag - that’s still going strong 2 years later!

And one year got a helium balloon with sweets in place of the weight. That was LOVED!

Itsforthebest · 27/06/2025 20:47

We got a little strawberry plant in one bag. I don't think my son was that thrilled but I thought it was lovely.

DragonRunor · 27/06/2025 21:17

Anything to keep them entertained on the journey home (not stickers!) and a few sweets (enough to share with sibling!) is perfect imo
