dd persistently saying she's done a poo - is it potty time?

dd is 21 mo and for the last couple of weeks, she has been telling me when she's done a poo, and bringing the wipes, clean nappy and a bag, and lying down. last week, she started tellingme while she was doing it or just before. for the las tfew days, she has been telling me that she's done a poo when she's actually done a wee, and insisting that i change her - we are getting through a lot of nappies!
should i be thinking of potty training or is this just a phase i should sit out?

Does she want to go on the potty/toilet? My DS has just started telling me too but I thought I'd wait until he wants to use the toilet/potty as I'd rather he was in nappies longer than spend ages struggling with potty training

try staying in for a day with no nappies on. tell her the potty is for wees and poss and see how she goes. no need to make a big deal of it. show her teddy going for a wee on it etc.

thank you for your advice. at the moment, she is more interested in throwing things down the loo and seeing if they float or sink and she isnt that bothered by the potty we have. will show her 'baby' sitting on the potty as you suggest and since its half term, we could do a day without nappies. i agree i'd rather wait till she's ready, sparky, rather than it being hit and miss for a long time!
