Baby due july/aug, wondering if anyone could share any tips on preparing 2.4yr old ds for baby's arrival and settling into life with a sibling.

My ds was 16 months old when dd was born so abit younger than yours and he didn't really understand even though I took him to the midwife check ups etc, he heard the heart, saw the pictures but I did buy him something and when dd was born and dh came to pick us up at the hospital with ds I presented his new sister along with a parcel saying that it was a gift from her.

One of the hardest things is when for example you're feeding baby and the other starts to cry and you're by yourself. You always have to decide which one needs you most and you will probably be more tired than you have ever been for months on end. But it is worth it, just thinking back at how exhausted I was but how gorgeous and cute my babies were, I would do it again!

we got our children gifts from the baby....but even nicer, we took our two to the bear factory where they made a special bear to give to their new baby when it arrived...they made a wish on a heart before it was sewn inside the bear, and they chose it an outfit (the bear, not the baby!)....it was a lovely personal gift, and got them thinking about the reality of getting a new baby.....

there are also some lovely books...usbourne do a nice one about getting a new baby....
