HELP!!!

My 10 day old little boy is good as gold during the day, he sleeps & eats well about every 4hrs but during the night he seems to be awake for 2hrs after his 2am & 6am feed.

Any ideas on how to turn this around so he's awake during the day & asleep at night?

hmm, poor you, am no expert as only have one DS, who's 10months now, but a strict routine worked for me...feeds and sleeps at regular times. Try Gina Ford. It worked beautifully for us...

Don't panic!! My ds was very similar and then suddenly worked out the difference between night and day (he's now 13 weeks and sleeps ok). Just give it time, it won't last forever- it will be quite a while before he will be awake for long periods during the day. The best way I have of making the distinction is by making the cot/bedroom/darkness for night time sleeps and daytime naps are downstairs with light/noise/bouncy chair/pram. It won't work for everyone but helped us (disclamer though- it didn't help us with our firstborn!)

Increase the frequency of daytime feeds to give him the energy to sleep longer between nighttime feeds. Try feeding at least every 3 hours during the day.
Do a few more play activities during the day- just basic stuff- cooing/ tickling/ moving his arms and legs, and keep 7pm to 7am calm and dark. Keep daytime light (don't put him to sleep in a dark room during the day).
