Eye contact 5 year old

Does anyone else have a child who really struggles with eye contact? My son barely even likes to make eye contact with myself or his dad. Looks away constantly. He has zero other autistic traits that I can identify - we do have autism in our extended family so have always kept an eye out for that. Not too sure what to do about it other that keep encouraging him to make eye contact.

If he finds it uncomfortable, don't push him to do it. I hate it, it feels weird and makes me feel anxious and vulnerable. It may or may not be autism, but time will tell.

Dont encourage him to make eye contact, that's not going to help. It'll probably make him feel more self conscious and then it will feel more uncomfortable and awkward.
