my six year old DS won't play on his own

please help, i am going crazy - even though my six year old has plenty of outdoor toys he just won't get stuck in and play for any length of time on his own. he wants me to play with him which i do for a while but he then just hangs around aimlessly when i go in the house to get on with something. he then keeps coming into the kitchen every two minutes to ask/tell me something. his sister is much the same but 2 years younger so i don't mind so much but i would just love to see them involved in a fun game that lasts more than 5 seconds and doesn't involve me to organise it! i am so fed up with being followed and needed all the time!

My son is the same, I can't offer any advice, just let you know you are not alone. It's reallly draining !!!!
