Short term co-sleeping - will it work?

DH and I are off to New Zealand in January for a 3 week motorhome trip with our DS, who will be 9 months old by then. We've been motorhoming before so are quite comfortable with the lifestyle, however one thing we are very stuck on is how to sleep with baby during the trip.

Currently DS is very relaxed - he sleeps fine in his bassinet and we have never needed to co-sleep. The question is: do we get the smaller motorhome with a king size bed which touches both walls (no risk of baby falling out) but not enough room for a travel cot on the floor? Or do we get a bigger motorhome with room for the cot, which we would have to put away every time we move the van? Obviously we have no idea whether baby would accept such a dramatic change in sleeping arrangements, but then going on holiday would be a change anyway?

Interested to know if anyone has co slept for a short period and how it went.
