My son is 6 months just gone. He has always been formula fed and has a good appetite, regular feeds all growth & weight been told is normal. I started trying to wean onto solids, but he doesn't seem to able to activate swallowing and holds the food in his mouth, at risk of choking. I don't know if it's relevant but hw was born at 34 weeks. Am I worried prematurely cos he may just not be ready. Would love any advice.

There is some advice around delaying weaning by a few weeks for babies who were born prematurely if they're not ready. I think would be best to link with your HV to make sure you're getting individualised advice for your baby. But definitely common enough and a couple of weeks can make a big difference😊
