Weedkiller where toddler was walking

I’m going to say straight away that I do have OCD and health anxiety so I don’t know if I’m overreacting.

We live in a built-up area with little green space. This morning I took my 16-month-old to the local campus uni as it’s open to the public and has some green areas he can stomp around in. He’s not long been walking so it’s a good, safe place to practise his toddling about, or so I thought. We’d been on this big lawn for about 10 mins when someone who works there informs us that the grass had just been sprayed with weedkiller. It was raining so it wouldn’t have dried, and he has touched the grass with his hands (I don’t know if his hands then went in his mouth but they could have).

I came straight home, gave him a bath and washed his clothes. He seems fine but now I’m panicking. Is there more I should be doing? I feel fucking stupid for going and so panicked. Thank you.

Seems odd why would they spray weedkiller on the actual grass?
Assuming they did, the rain would have been washing it off, no idea why they would spray in the rain?
Maybe worth calling to question them further and find out exactly the product and where it was sprayed. The most common weedkiller is officially safe for humans but like with anything there are doubts and uncertainties.

In your case I would say don't worry though, the worry is worse than the actual issue in this case.
