Bouncy castle, rain, no back up plan!

Having a bit of a panic about my daughter’s birthday party at the weekend. We’ve planned for a bouncy castle/garden party (thought this was a fairly safe bet in June!) but the forecast is saying 50% chance of rain. We live in a 3 storey house and don’t have much downstairs space. I guess my options are: crack on despite the rain, move it indoors and let 15 3/4 yr olds run amok in the house or look for last minute different venue. What would you do?

If it's not windy I'd go ahead. We've been to bouncy castle parties in the rain, you just need a lot of towels and adults on standby for when they try to get on/off the bouncy castle.

I would look to hire a village hall to be honest. I think excited kids scrambling on and off a wet bouncy castle is a nightmare!

My DD had a bouncy castle and garden party for her birthday in July last year, it turned out to be torrential! We just put up a little gazebo, moved the food table inside and messaged the invited kids parents to bring spare socks. Kids still had a ball. I would just crack on. Bit of rain never harmed anyone.

Thanks everyone, some helpful ideas. Towels, spare socks and a gazebo sounds like a good idea. Think I’ll monitor the forecast for another day as well and if it’s absolutely dire may have to re-think!

This happened to us in July!! We put up a gazebo in front of the back door and towels down in front of the bouncy castle. It was fine

We had a damp bouncy castle party a few years ago and the kids didn't give a hoot! When we talk about it now, they don't really remember the rain!

Oh dear, I'd assume you couldn't hire another venue at this short notice and work hard on making the downstairs indoor areas available for play. Move furniture upstairs if necessary.
We have a late May birthday and I'd never risk relying on an outdoor activity!
