Wondering if anyone can help. We went on holiday 2 weeks ago to turkey, daughter was swimming everyday so hair constantly wet & it was 30 degrees, we came back & she had 2 red patches on her scalp with flakes. I’ve been washing with head & shoulders & it has helped but the red patches are still there slightly, does it usually take this long to go away it’s been a week now, like I say it has improved

Sound more like a fungal infection than cradle cap. I would take her to see a pharamcist.

Try nizoral

I agree sounds fungal, most likely caught from the water in the pool. Might need some cream

I took her to walkin & they said it doesn’t look like ringworm & to use mild shampoo but then I googled sebboric dermatitis which is a fungal condition from overgrowth of yeast like cradle cap, just really confused

Could it be psoriasis? My son gets round patches on his scalp x

Are you sure that's not ring worm 🤔 I know you said it's not but it looks ring like

Fayy · 04/06/2025 20:24

im really not sure, it’s going down with head & shoulders. Doctor has prescribed some cream with anti fungal & steroid to try, hopefully it goes away
