Toddler fell backwards off slide

My nearly 2 y/o is becoming very confident and is very sturdy on his feet. He climbs up and down his slide so well. I’m always there obviously.
Only this evening, he climbed up to the top of his slide and I just didn’t get to him in time before he fell backwards. Luckily landed on playground bark.
My heart is still in my stomach. He cried a bit but calmed down quite quickly. I just have this awful feeling I’ve damaged him in some way. I’ve got all these awful thoughts going round my head. I’m sure I’d know if something was wrong, right??

How big is the slide? I think the rule is if they fall from a height greater than their own to get them checked but if it was onto bark then he's probably fine! Watch out for any vomiting or drowsiness, but don't feel bad, most people I know have a similar story - I fell over once while holding my 2 yo DD and knocked her head on the floor. She was absolutely fine, kids are bouncy!

Gosh I feel like I was there - saw a two year old fall off the ladder for a big slide today and land face first on the bark. Looked like he twisted his back a bit but was up and charging around again after about 10 mins. They're probably fine, but keep an eye out for drowsiness or sickness etc..

Just one of the standard toddler ones? The yellow and green ones?
I think he fell a little bit higher than his height but not like high high?
His cry turned into more of a tired and shocked whinge, rather than pain pain. I know his pain cry and it wasn’t that.
He came inside, has some milk and watched Tractor Ted for half an hour before I put him to bed.
Just feel so tense and guilty. Doesn’t help that my husband is away!!

I fell off the slide when I was a kid. I have got to 67, almost intact. Us kids bounce. You can't protect us from everything. You have done nothing wrong. Give yourself a break. Wait 'til he's a teenager and you are responsible for everything that has ever gone wrong in his life....

No, this was a big slide - I can only just reach the top platform with my arms in the air and I'm tall. Toddler fell from about chest height I'd say. Just there aren't many parks around me with bark and two two years olds plopping off slides in a day felt like a lot 😅 sounds like he's fine, but I totally get the guilt. I'd be going in to give him a poke when I went to bed and then regretting it when he woke up!
