My son has just turned 6 month and now just fights his sleep, he usually gets cuddled/rocked to sleep then put down but for some reason he has started arching his back and screaming and pushing out of my arms.
the problem is he cant self soothe and put himself to sleep so he just gradually just gets overtired.
hes sleeps in pram and in car but thats it! Any tips?

The first nap of the day is usually when they are most tired, at that age I could get mine to go down for a cot nap around 2-2.5h after waking. All naps after that were very difficult until baby naturally grew into doing a longer morning nap around 7 months.

You can try things like having a nap routine (for mine: fresh nappy, story, sleeping bag, hold their hand on the cot); and then you rescue all later naps by any means possible (breastfeeding, car, cuddles, pram, carrier, whatevs).

It's tough, I had a very stressful time over day sleep at that age and I'm not sure anything I did helped, I think the baby just grew in to napping better.

Now we're in the thick of the transition to one nap - send wine/coffee.
