Not sure what to do with sleeping situation

I had baby 2, 11 days ago now. My husband has stayed home and been tending mainly to our 2.5 year old. At night my toddler has a tendency (especially recently) to wake up after being put to sleep and wants cuddles to go back to sleep and youre then stuck in the room until you sleep. Hes always co slept with us as we never had a chance to put him seperatley due to being in a 1 bed and then moving into my mums whilst we built our current house. Anyway my husband will be going back to work tomorrow and he works mainly evenings up until midnight. I've put baby into his own room straight into the cot to get him used to it but my husband has said it'll be alot easier to put baby in moses basket and come into the bedroom. It will help alot yes but worried baby won't transition into a cot later. Currently I sleep on a bed next to baby and husband is in the other room with toddler which im happy with. Just don't want to regret anything later on. Thankyou

As long as you are sleeping with baby and you are all getting the maximum amount of sleep, that’s what matters. I think it makes sense that you tend to baby and your husband tends to toddler, so it’s not all you. But does toddler being in the other room mean you can’t go to sleep properly until midnight?

I’d just sleep where you get the most possible sleep. Your Dh takes over with toddler during the night as soon as he is home. You don’t need to get baby used to sleeping anywhere though. Certainly don’t do it at the expense of getting sleep yourself.
